“I grew up here on the reserve and attended both Chief Beardy Memorial Elementary School and Constable Robin Cameron Education Complex. I graduated from our local high school in 2001 and continued on with my education at the University of Saskatchewan. In 2006 I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree and my Certificate in Aboriginal Justice and Criminology. I worked for a few years with the Saskatoon Tribal Council Justice Unit then decided to pursue my educational dreams. In 2014 I obtained my Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law. I am very grateful for the solid educational foundation that I was provided with by the educators here on Beardy’s & Okemasis, Hiy Hiy.

I am part of the Sutherland and Gardipy clans. My grandparents are Georgeline Sutherland, the late Danny Sutherland and the late Tom and Marie Gardipy. My parents are Ken and Remonda Gardipy; my mother has been the most influential person in my life and served as the first female Chief of Beardy’s & Okemasis from 2011-2014. I served as Councillor from 2014-2017 and was re-elected to serve another 3-year term on March 24, 2017.”
