Councillor Jackie Gamble

Jackie Gamble is a Councillor with the Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation. She is responsible for:

  • Education
  • Employment & Training
  • Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls

Family

Jackie Gamble is married to Doug Gamble for 43 years. They have two beautiful daughters Juanita and Barb (Randal) and two handsome sons Michael (Candice) and Garrett (Carrie). They are blessed with seventeen grandchildren. They have in their care their oldest daughter Juanita and her son Reuben for the past 19 years. Jackie is the daughter of Late Ernest and Flora Mike. She has four sisters and ten brothers, three of which are deceased, late Austin, late Bobbie and late Dale.

Education

Elementary attended Beardy’s Day School from beginner to grade seven and Lebret Indian Student Residential School for Grade 8 & 9. Secondary Education attended Rosthern High School and St. Louis School with a complete grade eleven and partial grade 12. A housewife and a stay at home MOM for nine years. Returned to Adult Education through SIIT and completed four credits required for Grade Twelve diploma in April 1983. Began Post- Secondary in May 1983 at the University of Saskatchewan. She has to her credit and received from the University of Saskatchewan: 1987 Bachelor of Education Degree, 1995 Bachelor of Arts Degree and in 2002 Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Administration.

Employment

Jackie’s employment has been in the education field for the past thirty years. She started as a teacher/counselor at St. Michael’s School Block for ten years, principal at WCEC Elementary school on Beardy’s & Okemasis First Nation for eleven years, catalyst teacher/targeted behavior teacher at Chief Little Pine School on Little Pine First Nation for one year, employed as principal at Muskoday First Nation Community School, Muskoday First Nation for four years and is currently employed as Superintendent of Education for Saskatoon Tribal Council.

Experience

Jackie has been involved in various capacities at the community level such as: education board member, minor sports program, disability group, pastoral duties with the gospel group.
