Community Christmas & Secret Santa

You’re invited!

All members of the Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation are invited to attend the annual Community Christmas & Secret Santa!

Details:

  • Saturday, December 8th
  • CRCEC Gym
  • Sleigh Rides: 2-5pm
  • Meal: 3-5pm
  • Santa Claus: 4pm
  • Fireworks: 6pm

Door prizes available to be won, and gifts for youth 12 y/o and under will be distributed.

Transportation is available from Saskatoon and Prince Albert.

Saskatoon Departures
  • Saskatoon Indian & Metis Friendship Centre, 168 Wall St, 1pm
  • Confederation Mall Bus Terminal, 300 Confederation Dr, 1pm
Prince Albert Departures
  • Galaxy Cinemas, 2995 – 2nd Ave W, 1pm

Busses will depart city locations promptly at 1pm. Members utilizing transportation are advised that they will be on-reserve all day, plan accordingly. Busses will depart back to the cities at 7pm following the fireworks show.

Term position: Lands Assistant

We are looking for a three (3) month term Lands Assistant. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a good typist with a keen eye for detail.  Understanding of word documents and excel spreadsheets is a must.

The Lands Department will rely on you for filing and administering basic office skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Gathering and transferring data to a word document.
  • General office duties, typing letters, filing, organizing maps.
  • Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes;
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents;
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation; and
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost.
  • Office errands taking pictures,

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a clerk
  • minimum 40 wpm typing skills
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • High school degree or equivalent

Qualifications:

  • Possess valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License
  • Reliable and registered vehicle

The Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation is seeking a dedicated volunteer to join the Board of Directors of the Willow Cree Gaming Authority. The ideal board member will have:

  • Strong communication skills;
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a team; and
  • The ability to commit the time required as a member of the BOCN Board of Directors (minimum 1 day per month);

The BOCN is particularly interested in candidates with skills, knowledge and experience in some of the following areas:

  • Finance in the non-profit sector;
  • Strategic Planning;
  • Advocacy;
  • Community Engagement; and
  • Previous experience with a non-profit Board or community group is an asset.

  • Hills Graves clean-up will begin at 10:00 am.
  • Community Feast will begin at 1:00 pm.
