Job Summary
Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation is seeking an experienced Pasture operator for the
2023 grazing season commencing May 22 through to October 20, 2023. Beardy’s &
Okemasis Cree Nation is looking for an individual who is energetic with the ability to
work on their own.
Duties and Responsibilities:
.
Monitoring and controlling cattle
.
Keeping a daily log of cattle treated
.
Daily Log of cattle received and dates of release.
.
Must be able to ride and rope, a strong work ethic is required.
.
Duties will include but are not limited to checking and repairing fence, moving
herds, salting.
.
Doctor cattle as needed.
.
Picking up supplies.
.
And any other duties that may arise in other areas within Beardy’s & Okemasis Band.
Requirements:
.
Proven experience working with cattle.
.
The ability to detect illness and the ability to doctor cattle is a must.
.
Riders are expected to have their own horses and tack.
.
Rider must have horsemanship/livestock skills.
.
Class 5 driver’s license
.
Reliable vehicle
The directive will be taken from the Beardy’s & Okemasis Lands Department.
