STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF: 2ND COVID-19 CASE CONFIRMED AT BOCN
Beardy’s & Okemasis’ Cree Nation, Treaty 6 – The following statement was released today by Chief Ananas:
“Sadly, another person in our community has tested positive for COVID-19.
I understand there is frustration, and confusion in our community at this time, but please understand and be assured that our Emergency Management and Health teams are working diligently to both contact-trace, and contain the situation. Our schools and public buildings are closed, our businesses are taking steps to ensure the safety of their staff and clients, the Saskatchewan Health Authority has limited private AND public gatherings to no more than 15 people, and individuals who have tested positive are receiving all necessary supports including water, food, medication, cleaning supplies, and so much more.
But now it’s up to you.
We all have a responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. Wear a mask, thoroughly wash and sanitize your hands, avoid large crowds and family gatherings, download the COVID-19 Alert app, and stay home if you can.
Support one-another, pray for one-another, and let’s work together to ensure that these cases are the first, and the last that we’ll have to deal with.”
