SALARY INFORMATION: Salary according to University guidelines and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
PURPOSE: To assist with the large population based study “Assess, Redress, Re-assess: Addressing Disparities in Sleep Health Among First Nations People”
NATURE OF WORK: The incumbent will report to the project manager. Responsibilities will include: (1) recruitment of study participants, (2) administration of the survey form and measurements, (3) instruct participants on the use of the home sleep study equipment, (4) gather and download results of home sleep study, (5) maintain research records in a confidential manner and (6) other clerical and organizational duties as required by the project according to the study protocols. The study will be conducted in the community of Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation. All necessary training to conduct the clinics will be provided by the research project.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: The incumbent will work with a team to recruit participants, gather and record data. The work will be completed according to established timelines (some interviews may be conducted in evening to accommodate community members’ needs). The incumbent will attend weekly research team meetings and other meetings as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Two University Students: A minimum of successful completion of First Year University (Health Sciences an asset).
Experience: Ability to work efficiently in a team environment; ability to meet deadlines; ability to schedule interviews and organize research documents.
Skills: Basic computing skills are essential. Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills are required. Cree language fluency is an asset.
