CULTURAL SERVICES COORDINATOR
for
CHIEF BEARDY MEMORIAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
and
CST. ROBIN CAMERON EDUCATION COMPLEX – HIGH SCHOOL
General Responsibilities:
- To create, facilitate and deliver cultural programming and coordinate the delivery of various culturally educational outings and workshops.
- Meet with local Elders and coordinate school visits and needs
- Co-ordination of all cultural activities, events and services
- Facilitate cultural programming
- Recruitment of co-facilitators for specialized cultural knowledge
- Delivery of skills development workshops and activities
- Reporting on programs and services
- Abide by Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation policies and procedures
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment
- Ability to develop and deliver programming
- Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and under tight deadlines
- Fluency in Cree and English
- Knowledge and appreciation of Cree culture, values and beliefs
- Strong initiative; motivated and able to work independently
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Proven track record of dependability and reliability
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Experience with group facilitation
- Familiarity with issues facing Cree & First Nations people
- Availability to work some evenings and weekends as required.
Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience
