Title: Treaty Governance Justice Director

Reports to: The Treaty Governance Justice Director reports directly to the Director of Operations and is responsive to the Councillor in charge of Justice and Governance.

Description: The Treaty Governance Justice Director is responsible for administering the Nations’ Justice Program in accordance with applicable legislation and program policies. The objective is to provide support and assistance to youth, adults and their families throughout the duration of their involvement in the justice system. The program director is also expected to liaise with access to justice initiatives and assist members with accessing these services through establishing partnerships and delivering local workshops. The Treaty Governance Justice Director is also responsible for facilitating governance development initiatives, including the development of legislation, in accordance with our Nations inherent right to self-determination.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or a combination of training and experience in a related field
  • Ability to manage a budget
  • Ability to write proposals and complete reports
  • Valid driver’s license
  • CPIC (Criminal Record Check)
  • VSS (Vulnerable Sector Check)
  • Team player
  • Research skills
  • Computer skills including, email, internet and proficiency in Microsoft office
