Beardy’s & Okemasis First Nation, Treaty 6 – You may notice some changes over the next few weeks at Blackhawk’s Gas – one of those big changes will be a complete rebrand of the store with the petroleum franchise, Esso.

“We’re very excited to announce that we’ve signed a Memorandum of Agreement to rebrand Blackhawk’s Gas as a full service Esso gas station” explains Councillor Jeremy Seeseequasis, project leader. “All signage will soon be replaced to reflect our new direction including a new pylon sign, new island signage, and new gas pump decals.”
After months of legal troubles, the MOA is welcome news for the highway gas station which services travellers on Highway 11 and the Town of Duck Lake and Beardy’s & Okemasis First Nation.
“Our board anticipates signing a fuel purchase agreement with Parkland Fuel Corporation (TSE: PKI) shortly and we’ll begin selling Esso fuel products including Esso Diesel, Regular Unleaded, and Esso Supreme premium fuel.” added Councillor Seeseequasis.
The gas station pumps more than 2 million litres of fuel annually and the rebrand is expected to be completed by summer 2015.
